The Fayette Area Community Theatre (FACT) Wine and Spirits Walk is coming up this Saturday from 4-7 P.M. starting at the courthouse square, and I don’t know about you, but I’m very excited. It’s a chance to check out local businesses and taste delicious wines and spirits along the way. For those of you who don’t know, I planned the wine walk last year, and it takes a lot of planning, a lot of volunteers, and a lot of cooperation from local businesses to get an event like this together. This year a committee was nice enough to take over for me so I could regain some of my sanity (it was never all there in the first place), so I’m super excited about this year’s event because I get to enjoy it without those terrible dreams at the last second about having a car wreck with 500 engraved glasses in the car, or the one where no wineries show up but 10,000 people do, or the one about sleeping through the entire event. No, someone else is having those dreams, literally, someone else on the FACT committee is having those dreams, but I get to relax a bit and enjoy what’s going on around the square. One business that is involved in the wine walk is Miknan’s Main Street Pub, and they are most certainly going all out, one reason why I’m looking forward to this event. Miknan’s will be hosting Arcadian Moon Winery, and they will be serving appetizers and snacks at the wine tasting bar to make sure the crowds keep coming. If you feel like hanging out longer, they also have a pasta bar beginning at 5 P.M. for $15 per person, which includes Grilled Chicken Alfredo, Seafood Stuffed Ravioli in Sherry Cream Sauce, Stuffed Manicotti with Homemade Marinara, and Pesto with Pine Nuts over Bowtie Pasta. You can enjoy all four pastas along with freshly baked breadsticks and salad! If you don’t have enough room for all that pasta, check out the regular menu, which has some awesome new and fantastic classic menu items. If you’d like to order your tickets for the wine and spirits walk ahead of time, go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fact-wine-and-spirits-walk-tickets-37023167290?aff=efbeventtix. Tickets include an engraved wine glass and samples from ten wineries or distilleries. This is a fundraiser for FACT, and it helps support upcoming productions throughout the year and to get closer to their future goal of purchasing their own performance space. The tickets are $15 in advance or $20 that day. Enjoy the wine walk and enjoy the pasta bar at Miknan’s. The wine walk begins on the courthouse square, and Miknan’s is located right across the street at 107 N. Main Street. It’ll be a great evening of friends, family, music, and more, so eat, drink, and be merry!

It’s time to celebrate one of our local businesses, and what better way to do that than with a birthday party! On Saturday, September 30th, 9 A.M. to 2 P.M., Market Street Floral in Glasgow will be celebrating their third birthday. Market Street has spent three years taking care of our flower, apparel, and gift needs, and done it splendidly, so take time to stop by, shop, snack, and celebrate one of our wonderful local businesses. Kiersten O’Dell, the shop owner, has made a tradition of having a McCall’s Candle sale during their birthday celebration and this year you can get them 25-40% off. Not only that, but any attendee will receive a gift and you can also get a gift with purchase as well. You most certainly will find something to purchase - fall decor, wine, jewelry, dip mixes, clothing, and wine. Yep, I said wine twice because it’s important. There's an array of wines from Giggling Grapes and Adam Puchta Wineries for you to choose from. Giveaways are planned, and it wouldn’t be a party without cake and punch to celebrate. There will also be a pop up jewelry show, hosted by Claire Moorehead, presenting Chloe + Isabel jewelry. Market Street Floral is located at 111 Market Street in Glasgow. To get a sneak peek of what’s going on at Market Street, check out their website at www.marketstreetglasgow.com or catch Kiersten in a live video on the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/marketstreetglasgow/. Stop by and celebrate this beautiful local business. Elisha Wells Stroupe This Friday and Saturday, September 15th and 16th, is the annual Santa Fe Trail Days in New Franklin. I have many memories of Santa Fe Trail Days - marching in the parade, being a victim of the pie throwing contest, and most embarrassing of all, a member of many lip sync groups. Overall, I’m very glad I didn’t grow up in the digital age because those would be very humiliating to watch. Karaoke is pretty popular nowadays, so a new generation can head out with their smartphones and get an entertaining video. There are lots of things to look forward to this year. Friday night is kids night with many free and inexpensive activities to keep your little ones busy. It starts at 6:30 and includes activities such as a bounce house, barrel trains, air tattoos, games, and much more. Concessions start at 6:00, so you don’t even have to worry about dinner. At 7:00 P.M., the annual Little Mr. and Miss contest starts (registration at 6:30) and a limbo contest starts at 7:30 as well. Saturday is jam packed with family fun, as usual. Biscuits and gravy are served, starting at 7:30 on the street near the beer tents. Vendors will be set up all over town and the baby contest will also be Saturday morning. Concessions will run throughout the day, a fundraiser split amongst the high school classes, and the parade starts at 1:00 P.M. The New Franklin Park Board is holding a pie-eating contest at 2:00, $5 to participate with all profits to be used for park improvements. The New Franklin senior class will also hold a mouse race at 4:30 with a grand prize of $50. Place bets and enjoy an entertaining fundraiser. Don’t worry all non-parentals or parentals that just want a night out on your own. The beer garden is back Friday (opening at 6:30 P.M.) and Saturday (opening at noon), and Saturday afternoon there will be karaoke, for those of you brave souls, from 2:00 to 6:00, and St8 Arrow will perform from 8:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M. in the beer garden. Starting at 5 P.M., there will be a $2 entry fee into the beer garden. Not a beer fan? Margaritas are also available. Concessions, vendors, games, and other events will take place throughout the day. Most importantly, remember that Santa Fe Trail Days is a great opportunity for the local organizations to raise money, so your money will be well spent and your day will be highly enjoyable. Check out the flyer for more events and detail. Have a great Santa Fe Trail Days! Elisha Wells Stroupe All the months, possibly even years, of waiting is now coming to a head for all those that are excited about the upcoming eclipse. It’s reported that Columbia might even double in population for the day. Boonville hotels are sold out, and so are our local B&Bs and inns. It’s going to be a busy, long weekend. If you’re looking to extend the celebration locally, start out on Sunday night with Fayette Area Community Theatre’s version of Total Eclipse of the Arts. They are hosting a musical movie night with a showing of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. It’s a fitting movie for this celebration weekend, as an eclipse just might save the day, and the musical is also based on the Mark Twain novel of the same name, so where else to present this movie than in Missouri in the line of viewing. The main character, Hank Morgan, played by Bing Crosby, travels back in time after a blow to the head and brings some wild and comedic changes to King Arthur’s court. The movie starts on Sunday at 7:00 P.M. at Endeavor Agency (114. E. Morrison St., Fayette), and it’s sponsored by Exchange Bank of Fayette. Make it a date night or bring the whole family! Concessions will be sold by the community theater and Jr. Optimists of Fayette. There will also be a raffle for the upcoming wine walk that takes place on September 30th on the courthouse square. Wine glasses from last year’s wine walk can also be purchased or borrowed so feel free to bring in your own bottle of wine. To find more information about FACT or their upcoming events, check out their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/FayetteACT/. Elisha Wells Stroupe Some of us don’t want to admit it and some of us have been looking forward to it since the first time we sat in our hot car and burned our legs and arms during a sweltering summer day, but summer is almost over. It flew by! All the fairs and festivals, picnics and ice cream socials, sports and more sports, have kept us pretty busy. School starts soon and the weather will be changing with it. If you’re one of those people that loves the summer months and fall makes you a little sad, cheer up because Miknan’s Main Street Pub has something exciting to add a little flavor to those chilly autumn nights. If you have checked out their Facebook page recently or stopped by one weekend this summer, you’ve seen some of the photos and heard about the taste tests they’ve had, narrowing down the great options being added to their new menu. If Miknan’s is new to you, check out their Facebook page for upcoming events and details about their new menu and weekend specials. Two new additions to keep you warm this fall - Ada’s Potato Soup, a homemade soup packed with potatoes, Italian sausage, and kale with just a small kick of crushed red pepper, and the Seafood Bisque, a homemade hearty bowl loaded with lobster, shrimp and scallops -- with a hint of sherry! Another taste test that became a great success was for the Breaded Catfish and Fries, which will come as a basket or sandwich, but either way, it was a hit with customers. Also, the Sawyer Burger was popular with the young and forever young, an eight ounce burger topped with sauteed portobello mushrooms, swiss and Miknan’s new, homemade steak sauce. The “Little Guests” menu even gets an update with the Texas Toast Grilled Cheese. Some new starters and appetizers that you might like to try are the Sesame Ginger Salad and the Philly Cheese Quesadilla. For all those that also can’t live without ice cream, even during cooler weather, Miknan’s hasn’t forgotten about you. They’re adding the Cinnamon Waffle with Vanilla Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, and Caramel to the menu. Just a little summer treat, with all the fall flavors! The new menu comes out this coming Monday, August 14th, so make plans to stop by Miknan’s at 107 N. Main Street in Fayette to try out a new favorite or even an old favorite. You’ll find yourself going back so much you may even find that they’ve named their next menu item after you. Elisha Wells Stroupe Local students have been staying busy this summer thanks to Hilary Myers, director of the Fayette Area Community Theatre’s summer production. They’ve gotten up early to perform and advertise at the Optimist's Friday breakfast meeting and stayed up late rehearsing. They’ve been memorizing, dancing, building, and learning, all coming to a finale this weekend, July 21st-23rd, with their production of Godspell, Jr. Get your kids out of the house and have a family date, dinner and a musical. Godspell, Jr. is an upbeat, playful version of the original Godspell, written by Stephen Schwartz. The disciples of Jesus Christ help him present his parables in many creative ways with a variety of song styles, allowing the cast a creative way to represent their character and story. This musical has a message of kindness, tolerance, and love, a show for the entire family. Godspell, Jr. has an approximate running time of one hour. The production will be held at 116 Main St. in Fayette (the future location of the Alexander Hotel) on the courthouse square. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for students and seniors, and 5 and under are free. The Friday, July 21st and Saturday, July 22nd productions begin at 7 P.M. and the Sunday, July 23rd matinee begins at 2:00 P.M. The Fayette Area Community Theatre has presented the community with many wonderful productions over the years, such as Gypsy, The Heiress, and Company. FACT is always looking for directors, new production ideas, and volunteers. If you’d like to join or find out more about the local community theater, check their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/FayetteACT/, email [email protected], or speak with Bridget Hussey, FACT president. Or just let them know what your favorite productions have been and keep on attending! A SHORT PREVIEW... This Spotlight was sponsored by Miknan's Main Street Pub in Fayette. They are located just steps away from the performance at 107 N. Main St., so stop by and grab dinner before heading to see Godspell, Jr. Their special for this weekend is $6.50 breaded catfish with fries and $3.00 cinnamon waffles with ice cream, whipped cream and caramel topping. That's just too good to pass up! Outdoor seating is available too with a great view of our historic courthouse. Elisha Wells Stroupe A well-known institution for locals, Snoddy’s Store has been a family-owned and operated business since 1924. For those outside of Howard County, it’s a rare find. Online reviews of Snoddy’s often include phrases like “awesome deli,” “this place has EVERYTHING,” and “nicest people.” Most of us know that, but it’s a good reminder of what a gem we have right here in our county. For those that don’t live here or are new to the area, Snoddy’s is located on Hwy. 5 & 40, just before the Missouri River Bridge crossing into Boonville, and just a short walk or bike ride from mile marker 189 on the Katy Trail. It’s the perfect stop after a long bike ride for lunch, drinks, candy, yes, most importantly, don’t forget that candy rack, and souvenirs. Snoddy’s has a little bit of everything. I’ve mentioned in a previous post that you can get anything at Snoddy’s, specifically in my experience, a spicy pickle, a birthday card, and wedding decorations in one trip. If you can’t find it, ask Chris or Jimmy Snoddy, and they’ll find it or something similar (or better) that will work in its place. When they see my husband coming, they know they’re going to have to use some critical thinking skills because they will be asked to figure out what parts to splice/glue/jam some broken object back together with as little work as possible. They’re so friendly, they never complain about the wild goose chases they are sent on. The staff is very helpful and it reflects our community. I once brought a college roommate home to visit our wonderful community, and I took her to Snoddy’s for lunch. I told her, “We’ll just grab a couple of Snoddy Burgers,” and because of my lack of articulation or her lack of hearing correctly, she wasn’t too excited about this prospect, but once she devoured her Snoddy Burger, she was more than happy to eat there again. She was from Minneapolis, so she was also concerned when I left my car running in the parking lot, but I explained to her that it was okay, the only time it had ever been taken was by friends, who just hid it behind the store. I don’t recommend leaving your car running though. It was a 2001 Saturn, so odds of it not being stolen were greatly in my favor. Snoddy’s Store holds many memories for visitors and locals alike. I remember clearly getting yelled out by my mother in the old store before the flood of ‘93 because I had both hands, elbow deep in the minnow tank. What are your favorite memories or items from Snoddy’s? Share in the comments or on Facebook and show your appreciation by stopping by soon for a sandwich, some boots, or maybe just a lottery ticket, if my dad hasn’t already bought them all.
Elisha Wells Stroupe Are you trying to get through that summer time to-do list? If animal care is on that list, make sure you check out the Howard County Veterinary Service’s new online store, just recently launched to give their clients a more convenient way to shop for their animal care needs. Even better, to celebrate the launch of the new online store, the clinic is offering a 10% discount through the companion animal store and a 5% discount on the large animal and equine stores. Just use the promo code summer17 at checkout. You can find a link to all three stores at the Howard County Veterinary Service’s website: http://howardcountyvet.com/ Looking for companion animal products? Check out My Vet Store. Featured products: Heartworm preventative (Interceptor Plus), Flea/Tick preventative (Bravecto), and even treats, food, and toys. My Vet Store If you’re a producer, My Pharm Store carries products for food animals. Featured products: Dewormers like Longrange, insecticides, nutrition and supplements, vaccines, and even OB equipment and supplies. My Pharm Store Equine more your style? You’ve got your own store - My Equine Store! Featured products: Vaccines, antibiotics, wound care, insecticides, dewormers, and joint care. My Equine Store This a great way to buy local, even if you don’t have time to stop by the clinic, and Dr. Stroupe says the extra benefit of ordering online through a local business is “knowing that your pet's medications are coming from a safe, reputable pharmacy where medications are stored correctly.” The clinic only offers the manufacturer-guaranteed products that have been specifically approved for their patients. Another plus is the online store is always open! You can get medications for your pets 24/7 with overnight shipping available. On the companion animal site, all orders over $38 get free standard shipping! Our online store also makes it easy to remember monthly medications. You can schedule future orders on ANY product on the online store. On a fixed income and can’t afford a six month supply of heartworm preventative at one time? You can use the Easy Dose It function on the online store and have single doses of heartworm and flea/tick preventative sent to your home each month. Just a reminder though, before you start shopping, any prescription items that you need to purchase require veterinarian approval. Veterinarians will approve prescriptions after orders are placed, but you might need to allow at least one business day for this to happen. One benefit is that there’s no sending prescriptions to third-party pharmacies that don’t always follow veterinarian instructions, like changing doses or making product substitutions that can be harmful to your pet. The online store is another way to offer everything you need for your pet: Great prices, fast delivery, hundreds of items for dogs, cats, horses, cattle, and even pocket pets. You can get anything from prescription medications for your arthritic dog to squeaker toys. Unlike big box or internet pharmacies, the clinic has your pet’s prescriptions up-to-date and on file, there are no ads, and they never share or sell your information. If you have questions, feel free to call the clinic at 660-248-3382 or email [email protected]. Their office hours are Monday-Friday 8 A.M.-5:00 P.M. and Saturday 8 A.M.-12 P.M. Happy shopping, and don’t forget, the sale ends July 31st! Elisha Wells Stroupe Next Tuesday, June 20th, is the start of the Howard County Fair festivities, which will go through Sunday, June 25th, so it’s time to check out the schedule and plan a family fun night at the fairgrounds to enjoy all the fun to be had. If you’re planning to take the kids, don’t worry about dinner. Each night a local organization will be manning the food stand, so you’ll be supporting their hard work and saving yourself some much dreaded kitchen work as well. You can also top that off with some cotton candy at the carnival, which will be held from Wednesday through Saturday. Let’s not forget those wonderful carnival rides. Most adults would like to forget them, but your kids will think you’re the best parent ever if you get them a few tickets. There’s always lots to see at the fair. Kids love the livestock shows and checking out all the 4-H projects and the FFA exhibits. It’s a good time to plan ahead if they want to participate next year. There are lots of contests for the kids, from the pedal tractor pull on Thursday evening to the baby contest Saturday morning. Wednesday evening is the Little Kiddie Roundup, fit with farm chores, rides, a hay tunnel, and prizes. Definitely check out the schedule for all the activities, and sign up your kid or the whole family for an event throughout the week. Friday and Saturday night will be busy with the Wooten rodeo starting at 8 P.M. and the talent show on Saturday night starting at 7 P.M., which is a Missouri State Fair “Idol” preliminary. Stop by for an evening or all week. Parking prices are listed on the schedule, but admission to the events during the fair is free. Let the kids out to run wild for a night or two, sit back, and enjoy the fair food. A lot of people have worked hard make it a great week. Go out and show your support! Fair ScheduleThis ad was sponsored by Howard County Veterinary Services. The local veterinarians donate time, facilities, vaccinations, and dewormer for the steer, heifer, and goat weigh-ins and do the health papers for the sheep and goats. Elisha Wells Stroupe First, welcome to the HoCo Media Spotlight! Hopefully this will be a great place to promote all that is Howard County. Although this is a small community, sometimes we need reminders of all the wonderful things that are right next door. Second, it’s time to think local. This is not a judgy post, so please read on. I’m not going to tell you shopping at “this” or “that” big box store is ruining the county or giving your money to corporate monsters. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Even though I know it will help our county if I buy everything locally, I still find myself wandering the aisles of Wal-Mart wishing I had chosen my visit to be at 5 A.M. rather than 5 P.M. to avoid the aggravation of crowds, people who park their carts in my way at every aisle, or the thousand no’s I will have to say as my son asks for everything he sees. Sometimes you just need to pick up the random things like a gallon jug of bubbles for the kids’ bubble machine, a cheap pair of sunglasses because they will be lost or broken within a month, and sour cream for the tacos you need to make for dinner all in one stop so the baby won’t throw a fit as you try to get him in and out of a car seat multiple times. Don’t feel guilty! That’s life. This post is really just about being aware of small things you can do to support your community and to recognize changes that can be made to your spending habits to grow the local economy. One example, come to think of it - all of those things might have been at Snoddy’s. They have everything at Snoddy’s, you just have to ask Jimmy, and he’ll pull a rabbit out of his hat. I should know; I once bought spicy pickles, a birthday card, and wedding decorations at one time while at Snoddy’s. Yes, wedding decorations. Galvanized buckets can be used for all kinds of things. I once read an article that compared money to blood. It’s got to keep moving to be effective. If we purchase things out of our community, it’s gone, but if we purchase in our community, that money might just move around a little bit. If you buy your new tires locally, they might use their profit to take their spouse out to eat at a local restaurant, and that restaurant might buy some produce from a local grower, and that local grower might go see something presented by the community theater, and the community theater might buy something from the used clothing store for their next production, and so on and so on. I’ll be realistic. After your effort to buy local, the next person may have to or chose to buy elsewhere, but you kept money here for one more round. Here are some ideas that you can think about, and if you’re able to do one of these things that you hadn’t done before, pat yourself on the back because you’ve just kept it local. Keep date night in a 20 mile radius - Yes, that means no wide theater seats, jumbo bucket of buttery popcorn, and gigantic Coca-Cola. Save the gas, watch a movie from the recliner, pop three bags of popcorn and pour more butter over it, and keep filling up your Yeti with caffeine from Charlie’s Quik-Chek. But really, there are so many things you can do around here to make a memorable date night. Check out one of the local parks like Rickett’s Lake or the Katy Trail and go for a romantic walk. My husband rolled his eyes at that, but ladies, you are in charge of the date, so make them do it. There are also lots of restaurants to check out. There’s even a new pizza place by the winery in Glasgow. Hit them both up! There are also events galore. We’re becoming a more active community, so almost every weekend is full of fun events like concerts, theater, wine walks, games, trivia, dances, wine walks, and more. Yeah, I said wine walk twice, I know, but they are that great. My husband even says so and he generally doesn’t like crowds. Crowds with beverages, now that’s okay. So plan one date this month, and plan it local. Have a night out with the kids, right here - Show your children what their community has to offer. Thanks to a lot of hard working volunteers, there are lots of children’s events in the county, especially coming up this summer. Glasgow, Fayette, and New Franklin all have movie nights so keep checking back on the calendar for those. Enjoy the outdoors too. You could go kayaking on many of our waterways, ride bikes on the Katy Trail, go bowling in Glasgow, enjoy the PTO Pig Out in New Franklin, or take the kids to many of the local parks that have been set up with disc golf and have a friendly family competition. Buy gifts local - If you’re buying gifts, definitely check out your local stores and small businesses. Check your friends list on Facebook first. Many people now have retail businesses that you can easily find online. One cool thing that many people have been doing before a holiday or birthday is starting a post to create a list of local businesses, that way they can start with those. Maybe someone might enjoy a gift certificate from the beauty shop in New Franklin, someone might love some antique decor from one of the many shops in Glasgow, or someone, me, I’m talking about me, might just want a pitcher of margaritas for happy hour at Dos Primos and a gift certificate might do the trick. If you think you can’t get a gift for someone locally, try going more practical. Everyone needs something, right? We need gas, food, toilet paper, very important stuff. I’ll admit, adolescents may be difficult to buy for. Just get them a case of bottled water because the time they don’t spend on an Ipad is usually spent participating in a water bottle flip game. You can seem cool (a year late) and look out for their health. If you’re that rotten aunt or uncle that gives them candy and downloads the fart app just to get a laugh, then a fidget spinner is the way to go. Party plan - One way to support the community is to party plan right here. There are lots of parks to hold family get-togethers, restaurants that will accommodate parties, and even larger venues like Blue Bell Farms for bigger events. From small to large, there are places in the county that will work perfectly. Even holding an event at a park that doesn’t charge still supports the community. You’ll bring in family and friends from other areas that might spend money here, and you’re utilizing recreation areas that are here to serve the community. Think outside the box as well. A friend had a fantastic idea for a holiday celebration. Her family wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving with her, but she didn’t want to prep her home for that many people, so she rented the Historic Howard County Jail Inn in Fayette. Genius! There are quite a few B&Bs in Howard County. Plan your next event and leave your home the disaster that you’re comfortable with. Day to day shopping - It can be done in a small town, to a certain extent. Two arguments that are often given for not shopping locally is that it’s too expensive or that what you want may not be available. If things are too expensive, buy from the sales ad or promotions of local stores or set a budget or number of items that you will try to buy locally rather than from a bigger store. If you have certain items that you can’t find at a local store, something you would buy regularly, ask a manager to stock it. Services - Remember, there are businesses and people in the county that provide the same services that you drive all the way to Columbia for; you just have to find them. When you take your car in to get an oil change at a chain location, you tend to walk out with a whole list of things that they talked you into and a hole in your wallet because it cost five times as much as you planned. If you go local, that usually doesn’t happen. They are business owners with a schedule and a few workers, so they do what is expected and only suggest what really needs to be done. Those chain stores have many employees on commission, so of course they are going to try to upsell. A few entrepreneurs have also noticed the lack of handymen in the area to do those small jobs you just don’t have time for. Ask around. That to-do list that includes painting the deck, mowing the lawn, fixing the broken screen, or power washing the house can be done by someone else right here in the county. Even better, keep your money in the county by making your teenager do it. That works just as well, except they’ll take forever. Volunteering - This may sound crazy since no one will be paying you and you may not be shelling out the big bucks, but volunteering is one of the most important ways to “keep it local.” Community groups plan events and fundraisers, which brings money to the county, but more importantly creates a closer community. Take your talents to the next Optimists meeting, historical society meeting, or one of the many other groups in the county. You’ll be surprised at all the cool stuff they are doing and how much they offer the citizens of this county. Don’t be shy! They’ll welcome you with open arms and put you to work in a second. Online shopping - Wait?! What?! But yes, online shopping is beneficial for the county. Taxes from those purchases come back to the county directly. So if you are trying to keep it local but you really just need (or want) that awesome new smartphone, then get it online. Plan ahead for things like diapers. If you have Amazon Prime or order from Wal-Mart, you can get large quantities with 2-day shipping. I suggest Amazon Prime, so you can use that time you saved driving to the big box store watching episodes of Z, the untold stories of Zelda Fitzgerald. I don’t have Amazon Prime personally, so if you are a nerd, into a show like that, I could bring the wine. Pick one of these things to try, just one. Come up with one way in the next week that you can keep it local, something that you haven’t done before. If you’re unsure about what places or events can fit your needs, make sure you like the Facebook pages of local businesses and organizations. Also, check out the calendar of events or notes in the local papers to give you an idea. Those are great ways to find out what’s going on in the county and get up-to-date on what’s going on. |
